As Earth celebrated the return of sunlight this past December, a pair of violent storms surged across the Pacific Ocean, creating some of the heaviest waves to reach the Hawaiian Islands in decades. Venturing out to sea and into the sky enabled Cody to capture intimate and expansive perspectives of this historic phenomenon.
Entering the ethereal glow of dawn and twilight over the course of three days, Cody encountered a vast spectrum of vivid surf: from serene glass barrels to mammoth swells the size of five-story buildings. Limits were pushed, memories were created, and many were blessed to experience waves of a lifetime.
